The Kanger SUBVOD-C is the modern progression of the SUBVOD, replacing the old Subtank Nano with the Subtank Nano-C clearomizer aka Protank 6.
An evolution of the original EVOD, the SUBVOD is a one-button-operation setup that is very easy to use just charge the battery, attach the clearomizer, add e-juice, and vape away. But unlike the EVOD, the SUBVOD allows you to use sub-ohm tanks and take advantage of the vapor and flavor benefits of sub-ohm coils.
The Kanger SUBVOD-C Battery
The SUBVOD-C is a fixed-voltage eGo-style vaporizer powered by a 1300mAh rechargeable battery. Like the original EVOD, it is made of aluminum alloy and stainless steel so it can withstand shocks even if it rolls off your desk.
The SUBVOD-C will fire up your atomizer at a fixed output of 3.7 volts, regardless of whether the battery is full or low in power.
It can handle coils with resistances as low as 0.4 ohm allowing you to use sub-ohm atomizers that you already have. Just make sure that it fits the 18.5mm diameter of the SUBVOD-C spring-loaded connector.
A micro USB cable is included in the SUBVOD-C starter kit for your charging needs. The SUBVOD-C has passthrough functionality so you can continue vaping as it charges.
The Kanger Protank 6 (Subtank Nano-C)
The highlight of the Kanger Subtank Nano-C is its compatibility with SSOCC atomizers. While the old Subtank Nano was fitted with square-shaped OCC heads, the new Subtank Nano-C is designed to work with the new stainless steel organic cotton coils from Kanger.
The Kanger Subtank Nano-C is similar to the Protank 5 in construction and features.
On top of the Subtank Nano-C is a standard Delrin drip tip that is fixed to the top cap. The middle section which houses the atomizer head and e-liquid is enclosed in a clear Pyrex glass for easy viewing.
To refill the tank, simply twist the cap and pour e-juice into the wide filling area. The double O-rings provide a secure and tight seal to prevent any leaking. You'll be able to fill the liquid reservoir with up to 3ml of e-juice without having to remove the tank from the mod.
Like the Protank 5 base, the Subtank Nano-C does not have any bottom threading and uses dual O-rings instead to seal the Pyrex glass. To change the SSOCC head, just hold the device upside down and pull the tank away from the base.
Kanger has also added juice control to the Subtank Nano-C tank. Near the bottom of the chimney are two large holes that align with the wick ports on the atomizer head. By rotating the base of the tank, you can adjust these ports to open or close. The adjustable liquid control function allows you to select just the right amount of juice that gets wicked into your coil during vaping solving the all-too-common issue of gurgling and flooding. Always shut the ALC valve when filling the tank to prevent leaking.
Air is drawn to the coil from a pair of 11mm by 2mm symmetrical vents at the base of the Subtank Nano-C. Although these slots are not adjustable, you'll be able to enjoy thick clouds of vapor and great flavors from a well-designed airflow mechanism.
The SUBVOD-C battery and the Subtank Nano-C have a combined length of 137mm and weight of only 98g making it super lightweight and highly portable.
Kanger is offering the SUBVOD-C starter kit in five different colors: silver, black, white, rose gold, and silver gray.
If you're looking for a powerful sub-ohm device for entry-level or on-the-go vaping, the Kangertech SUBVOD-C starter kit is ideal for you.
